Bruce Fleet has been a professional investment manager since early 1986. For the first twenty years of his career Bruce rose through the ranks to achieve the position of Senior Vice President of Investments, was selected as one of four national trainers (out of 13,000), and became the leading manager of denominational charitable foundations in the country. His average institutional client account value was between $25mil - $100mil per account.
In January 2006, Bruce left his Wall Street position to form his own firm, Fleet Capital Management, LLC, so he could travel less and manage investment portfolios using world class investment research. Now at his own firm, Bruce spends the time necessary with each client to formulate an appropriate risk tolerance level, evaluate future capital and income needs, consider the clients investment goals and then creates an appropriate investment portfolio specifically designed for the client.
Daily monitoring, ongoing investment and economic research, weekly market analysis videos, and quarterly portfolio performance reviews are all part of what sets Fleet Capital Management, LLC apart from the crowd. Bruce is also a highly experienced technical analyst, trained in part by Ed Seykota, one of the world’s greatest stock traders.
While Bruce does not currently hold the active certifications, he is listed among the first 2,500 advisors in North America who have received two prestigious recognitions, the Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMA) and the Investment Strategist Certificate from the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. Bruce was also a member of The Investment Management Consultants Association.
Throughout his career, Mr. Fleet has been especially interested in teaching investors and professional investment advisors the fundamentals of proper and effective investment management. While some believe one can manage returns, it is Fleets’ trusted opinion that the emphasis should be on managing portfolio risk. His record shows this emphasis often leads to better returns through the potential reduction of downside risk and volatility.
Bruce has been married for forty-three years, is an avid sailor, and holds a commercial pilots license with both instrument and multi-engine ratings. Bruce has two published books, one of which has been translated into numerous languages for countries around the world.
Bruce and his wife live in the Pacific NW on the coast of the Puget Sound, just twenty minutes south of the Canadian border. Their thirty-six year old son also lives nearby.
Finally, John Bogel, the founder of Vanguard Investments, and one of the most influential people in U.S. investment history, wrote to Bruce and called him a “kindred spirit”.
"Successful trading is about finding the rules that work and then sticking to those rules."
